Gut Bacteria and Fish Oils

Some research showing that the gut microbiome benefits not just from fibrous foods (e.g. leeks, onions, garlic) and the right kind of sugars, but also from oily fish.

The realisation that we are always eating for two

  • for our own body cells and the energy we need
  • and for the health of the trillions of bacteria who are involved in doing important stuff for us

and that expectant mums are actually eating for three, is a powerful new way of thinking about food that I think should be hammered home more.
